Felipe Garcia

Program Coordinator and Photojournalist

My name is Felipe and I’m currently 21 years old. I can’t remember when my love of airplanes and photography started, took a good amount of photos throughout the years but never took spotting too seriously until this year. My first photography trip was to Pima Air Museum in 2002 (there’s a whole story to that, it involves being stranded at the Tijuana airport, last minute trip changes, an extended visit of SoCal and still being able to visit the museum), and back then I never imagined that 6 years later I was going to end up a few hundred miles north studying Aerospace Engineering. I enjoy traveling by air and I’ve been able to fly to all sorts of places in planes ranging from Twin Otters to 767s. But flying can be far more expensive than spotting, so I spot a lot but don’t travel much. I really enjoy going to airshows and fly-ins and hope to be able to get media credentials for events like the Reno Air Races at some point too.
