Legacy. Everyone leaves one and every person has a choice in how theirs will be defined. By a person’s actions, they determine how they are to be remembered. While everyone experiences some degree of success in this endeavor, some accomplish this in spectacular fashion. One of those people, the late Ed Maloney created a lasting tradition of excellence within the warbird community that is simply unrivaled. Now, 60 years later, that tradition once again manifested itself in a magnificent airshow in Chino, California. 36th Annual ‘Wings Over Camarillo’ Air Show

The 36th annual 'Wings Over Camarillo' air show was held August 20th and 21st at the Camarillo Airport in Southern California. Once known as Oxnard Air Force Base, it is now home to the Experimental Aircraft Association(EAA), the Ventura County 99's, the Ventura County Sheriff Department, and the Commemorative Air Force's Southern California Wing . The airport also houses several general aviation businesses such as Orbitz Helicopters.

The show's Grand Marshall this year was none other than Mr. Bob Eubanks, who helped open the show along with Ron Fleishman. Together they kept the crowd informed and entertained, sharing stories of Bob's illustrious career in between aerial acts.

Almost 30 hours after coming back from Valle, several gigabytes and a few beers later. I have the photos ready.

The 2nd airshow in Valle in just over two months, I heard of this one from some guy in a Facebook group and did some research and it turned out it looked like I was going to make it. The reality is that as the show got closer, it started looking not good. First, Flagship Detroit cancelled, unfortunate news, but then I got word that the PB4Y Privateer was going this time (it had engine trouble in June, just as it was getting ready to head up to Valle), then, miserable weather throughout Northern Arizona threatened the show...
