Last week Jason Bong and Kyle Boyd decided to take a flight to KLAX for a day of spotting. We decided to catch a flight out of KPHX to spend the day at KLAX. Well, this last Saturday was the first fly-in of the season. Even with the threat of bad weather, heat haze and low attendance I made the 3 hour drive just to see how it was. In the next couple months, the Valley of the Sun temperatures will be slowing coming down. And when the temperatures come down it make s for some outstanding Aviation Photography. PHX Spotters day 2011 was a complete success. Over 1000 applicants all come together at US Airways Training Center located just West of Sky Harbor Airport. Information passed on to me was that US Airways has not hired any new employees for about 4 years. And after the face to face interview 26 out of 1000 applicants were selected for the next hiring process. Today was the High Country Warbirds Fly-in, held at the Planes of Fame museum in Valle (40G). When I first learned of the event, I wasn't sure if I would make it, given that this is final exams weekend; to my good luck, my final was at 8 AM, which would give me plenty of time to make the drive up to Valle to see this.
