Arizona Aviation Night Photography at Sky Harbor Airport

A couple of weeks back some members of PHXSpotters met out at Sky Harbor International Airport at Terminal 4 on the top deck. When we arrived we unpacked our tripods and started hitting that shutter button. I have always been afraid of taking night time photos, since I had never experienced doing night time aviation photography. I was not sure how my photos were going to turn out. I was thankful that we have some very talented photographers in our group.  They were able to get me set up and teach me the proper settings to doing night time photography at KPHX. The location that we had picked was on the North East corner of Terminal 4.  The North side of the terminal is mostly US Airways and on the South side is Southwest Airlines...

Luke Air Force Base 2011 Airshow & Open House

For three days in March the sky was filled with Military and Civilian aircraft. Also on the list of performers were the United States Army Golden Knights and the Red Bull Skydiving Team.  There were spectators from across Arizona and many from across the country that were here to see the show. The event kicked off on Friday for base personnel and their family members. This allowed the base staff to have the day off and take the family to enjoy the show with out all of the visitors in attendance.   This also allowed for their children to be able to climb on the static displays without having to wait in line.

On Friday I was able to get a nice photo opportunity with Tim Weber and his Extra 300s Aerobatic Aircraft (N94BJ)...

Heritage Flight Conference Media Day 2011

Every year In early March the United States Air Force gathers together its best pilots at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson Arizona , making up the seven air combat command demo teams and select civilian warbird pilots to train and coordinate for each years airshow season. During select shows the Air Force will fly a formation with one or more of its ACC demo teams with vintage warbirds from the Air Force’s past. I with a few other invited members were allowed on base during one day of their training and is a way for all involved to show off what have learned in the previous week, it was a great experience and I’d like to thank all who were involved.

Aircraft showcased from the current Air Force included the F-22 Raptor, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon and a A-10 Thunder...
