Phxspotters visit KLAS

By: Category: Uncategorized

Jason Bong and Joe Kates left Phoenix in route to KLAS for the Red Flag 11-2 and decided that it would be a great opportunity to visit KLAS for some great Aviation Photography. We both met our good friend and Website Operations Director Dave Budd out at the spotting location.  Prior to the trip Joe had decided that we were going to take his truck, since it was equipped with a spotters platform.  I was able to meet a couple of other Aviation Photographers while we were out taking photos at KLAS.  Also during our trip Joe took me to meet Chris Kilroy at The Airplane Shop . Had a great time and got some awesome photos, cant wait to get back to KLAS and do it again.

On the Sunday preceding the Tuesday media day we all met out at KLAS for an afternoon of civilian airliner spotting. Joe lent me the Canon 50D with the 300mm f/4 and I managed to get some good images with it. This is a quick preview of an Alaska 737 about to flair over 25L. This is a long shot and I’m amazed at how clear it came out!!! Jason and Joe…when you coming back??
