Coolidge Fly-in 2011

On January 1, 2011 Jason Bong and Joe Kates and new member Jeff Hoffman braved the 20 degree weather and attended the first Coolidge fly-in for 2011. Although the weather was well below par, it was not enough to stop the pilots from flying to Coolidge for the New Year. Coolidge Aviation LLC sponsors the  fly-in, and the Breakfast is provided by Coolidge Lion’s Club in front of the hanger. So if your looking for something to do on the first Saturday of the month drive or fly on over to Coolidge AZ (P08). And if your a Photographer looking for that nice close up shot come on down.

Holiday Traffic KPHX

Jason had the the chance and get out to KPHX again this week. I was able to talk to one of the Operations Manager of KPHX and they stated ” The holiday traffic doubles in size during the week of Christmas and New Years.” During my tour of Sky Harbor International Airport the Cargo Terminal was loaded with Aircrafts being loaded up and getting ready for departure.

One year ago today.

One year ago today I received my first DSLR camera for my 35th Birthday. My wife askes me “What are you going to do today?” I laughed, I am going spotting at KPHX, I jump in my truck and off to the airport I go. Here is my very first photos and edits of my pictures.

My photos were well below par. But I did not have a clue what I was doing. So after a day of spotting out at KPHX I head home and I received a call from Joe Kates who is the founder of PHX and we have what felt like a two hour talk on the phone. And he asked me if I would be interested in join the team. He said I am going to call Dave Budd who is our go to guy for the website and is a outstanding photographer and he will get you all set up...
