Left Seat Restaurant

Greetings!

I’d like to recommend the Left Seat Restaurant & Lounge in Phoenix, AZ as a great location to dine and watch the airplanes land at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport! The restaurant is centrally located, offers breakfast and lunch, and its layout is perfectly suited for meetings and banquets. Stop in for breakfast or lunch to see what the facility has to offer. It’s also a great place to bring the kids on Saturday to see the airplanes!

The Left Seat Restaurant & Lounge located near 24th Street and East Air Lane in Phoenix, next to the north runway at Sky Harbor Airport. It’s a great place to eat and watch all the airplanes land! The restaurant is almost like an airplane museum. Lots of aviation pictures on all the walls and model planes hanging from the ceiling. You can see what the restaurant is all about at www.leftseatrestaurant.com . In case you are wondering, it’s called the “Left Seat” because that is where the pilot sits when flying the airplane.

The Aviation Department at the Sky Harbor web site has a nice write up about the restaurant at:

http://www.skyharbor.com/PhxPerspective/leftseatrestaurant.html.

The restaurant has quite of bit of history. Here’s an excerpt from the Aviation Department’s site….”And, for history buffs, did you know that the Left Seat Restaurant is in close proximity to the original terminal at Sky Harbor? In fact, during the 1930’s and 1940’s, people used to fly into Phoenix and get married near the old wedding bell at what is now the Left Seat and fly out as Arizona was one of the few states that didn’t require a blood test.” (The Wedding Bell is still there; it’s on the Left Seat’s patio.)
