When did you know you had a love for aviation? We all know that we didnt just come into this world and start chasing those planes. Everyone has a story of when they knew they cought the spotting bug. And here is my story.
My story starts when I was just 8 yrs old and me and my mom were flying out of Sky Harbor International Airport (KPHX) to John F. Kennedy International Airport (KJFK). We were standing at the gate prior to boarding and I was just staring out the window of all the arriving and departing airliners. I didnt catch the bug till we boarded TWA 747-100 in KJFK to Franfurt Internation Airport (EDDF). I was allowed to sit in the captains seat and recieved my first set of golden wings. At that moment all I could think about was airplanes. While living in Frankfurt Germany, my father would take me down to a small cillage named Muhlbach germany and I met my first airplane spotter. He was about 70 yrs old and spoke very good English. He explained to me that he was into tracking the registration numbers of all the planes he sees. Well after our day at the park I asked my parents to goto the Base Exchange and get me a little note pad so I can start collecting registration numbers. It was not until a couple years later I started taking photos with a disposable camera. And my growth for avaition just grew. Now 28 years later I am now using a DSLR camera that my wife bought for me for my 35th Birthday. Although I am not collecting the registration numbers anymore, that does not stop me from trying to track the aircraft that I do get pictures of.
Now here at Phxspotters we have a forum for all your stories and Photos. Are you looking for a groupl of people that know what the Spotter bug feels like. We have them right here. http://phxspotters.com/forums/ this is a place where you will get reconition of all your photos. We dont care if they are unedited or unlevel. If you have a Point and shoot or a couple thousand dollar camera we want you. So join our group of Aviation Spotters and show us what you got. We would love to see it.
